In the first series of Yuugiou, he was a little bit psycho. He used games other than Duel Monsters, and, should his opponent lost to him, gave out 'Penalty Games'. Such as sending Seto Kaiba into the world of Duel Monsters.
In Duel Monsters, he's lost the touch of sending out penalty games (Shame, I enjoyed them). Instead, he's undefeatable. Unless his opponent threatens to jump off the building like Seto Kaiba did. And come to think of it, he didn't seem to care about him. It was little Yuugi who prevented him from winning (Bad Yuugi. Bad, bad Yuugi!).
By the end of Duel Monsters, he's gained a little bit more respect for his friends, and understands friendship a lot more. I'm sure Seto Kaiba will miss him - After all, the series ended with him never truly defeating Yami.
