Yugi Mutou

Yugi Mutou (Yuugi Mutou) is the main star of Yugiou. When we first see Yugi, he's, overall, an easy target. He gets bullied a lot in the first series, even by Jounouchi originally. But when Yugi solved the mystery of the Sennen Puzzle, there seemed to be something different about him.....



Mou Hitori no Yugi/Yami no Yugi (Yami Yugi)

The other star of Yugiou, the mysterious spirit that lies within the Puzzle. In the first series, he's a bit more dangerous, and.... Psycho. He challenges all that oppose him to a Yami no Geemu (Shadow Game). If they lose, they undergo a Penalty Game.



Jounouchi Katsuya

Jounouchi Katsuya is, at the start of the series, found bullying Yugi. He enjoys teasing him, especially with the unfinished Puzzle. He is the cause of the missing Puzzle piece. When Yugi stood up for him, he realised Yugi was his friend, not his toy. Jounouchi retrieved the final Puzzle piece and returned it to Yugi's Grandpa. The two are best friends after.



Honda Hiroto

Honda is Jounouchi's best friend. At the start, Honda is no better than Jounouchi at teasing Yugi. However, unlike Jounouchi, Honda has a major love interest - Miho. He is mostly trying to impress her throughout, although his plans often backfire.



Anzu Mazaki

Anzu is Yugi's other best friend. She and Yugi have been friends for a long time, however, she has a major crush on Yugi's other self after he saves her.



Miho Nozaka

Miho is Honda's love interest. She's often after 'cute' things, and enjoys games such as Capmon. Although she rarely leaves the team, but she does not star in Duel Monsters.



Ryou Bakura

Ryou is overall quite quiet. Although he appreciates the gangs friendship, ever since he touched Yugi's Puzzle, something's been troubling him, to the extent where he'd much rather they stay away....



Yami no Bakura

Yami Bakura is even worse than Yami Yugi for being a little on the edge. He challenges the gang to a game towards the end, where he attempts to steal their souls. Just like in DM, he's only interested in causing grief for Yami Yugi.



Seto Kaiba

Possibly the biggest change he undergoes later is his hair colour - Green. He shows no caring side in any of the episodes, and his friendship with his brother, Mokuba, seems to have gone missing as well. He wants revenge on Yami Yugi for drawing with him on Duel Monsters.



Mokuba Kaiba

Seto's younger brother is slightly more evil than he is in DM. An expert at Capmon, he also challenges Yugi. All he really wants is his old brother back, though.
